About Us
Lucy NCoCo Purses and More was founded in March, 2001 by Sandi Fitch and Judy McLeod. They initially made and sold custom cigar box purses but realized this was a niche offering that would play out quickly. When Sandi fell in love with the handmade bags in the street markets of London during a trip to Europe the ladies decided on a new direction for the company. They quickly realized they each brought unique skills and experience to Lucy NCoCo - Judy's experience as an artist and jewelry designer, and Sandi's 20 years in the business world provided the right complement for their little startup.
Judy and Sandi designed and made all the purses for the first few months, but the demand quickly overtook their output, so they decided to use local expert seamstresses. Although Lucy NCoCo has quadrupled since 2001, Judy and Sandi continue to cut and design all of their products and work with the seamstresses to ensure consistent quality and beauty of their products.
At some point, you may have asked yourself, "Why Lucy NCoCo?" or "Why is a website dedicated to purses covered in paw prints?" Lucy and CoCo are Sandi's dogs. When Sandi and Judy started the company, Judy suggested naming it after Sandi's two favorite girls, and they've been LNC ever since. Although Lucy and CoCo are just two of many dogs, cats and birds that inhabit Sandi's and Judy's homes and both dogs would rather eat than play dress up, Judy and Sandi just decided "Lucy NCoCo" had a certain ring to it.
Lucy NCoCo has a look of its own. So once you get your Lucy NCoCo purse or put one of our dresses on your little girl, don't be surprised if you hear someone whisper, "I think that's a Lucy NCoCo!!"
After four years in business and countless requests, pleas and demands for a Web site you can finally get Lucy NCoCo's most popular styles any time you want. Sorry it has taken so long, but, we promise, when everyone you know says, "Where did she get that?" you can just smile. You know it was worth the wait!
